Western terminus: Kapolei, HI, at JCT HI 93
Eastern terminus: Honolulu, HI, at JCT HI 72

States traversed & length in each:

  • Hawaii — 28 miles (45 km)

  • Pearl City, HI
  • Honolulu, HI

Junctions with non-related Interstates:

Related loops and spurs:

  • Interstate H-201 — 4 miles long; 180° loop, north and east of H-1, bypassing the part of H-1 that travels through Pearl Harbor Naval Station; termini at I-H1 Exits 13 and 19

Length I’ve traveled: None

Time zones:
Hawaii-Aleutian — Entire length
(NOTE: Hawaii does not observe Daylight Saving Time, meaning Hawaii-Aleutian Standard Time is UTC–10:00 year-round. This is three hours behind Pacific Daylight Time and six hours behind Eastern Daylight Time in the summer, or two hours behind Pacific Standard Time and five hours behind Eastern Standard Time in the winter.)

Counties traversed:
Hawaii — Honolulu

A quick hypertext drive: I have never been to the state of Hawaii at all, much less driven any of Interstate H-1. Oscar Voss’ Hawaii Highways website has this page with better information about H-1, as well as many pictures of the highway.

Interstate H-1 more or less parallels the southern shore of the island of Oahu, except where it swings to the north to go up around the north end of Pearl Harbor Naval Station. It swings to the south and passes through the eastern part of that installation before turning back to the east toward downtown Honolulu. On the east side of Honolulu, the freeway ends and turns into a surface road.
